Current Ph.D. Candidate, University of Pittsburgh
Vicki Hoskins is a scholar/practitioner and PhD student. Prior to coming to Pittsburgh, Vicki worked as an actor, literary manager, and dramaturg. Her focus in dramaturgy has been working in new play development, and many of the plays she has worked on in their early stages have now seen professional productions. She also has worked as a production dramaturg on musicals, plays, dance performances, and devised pieces. Her research focuses on the American Musical Theatre, examining both the trends in dominant commercial theatre, as well as the musicals that challenge and subvert these norms. Vicki is also interested in performances of fan culture, such as cosplay performance, re-enactments, and roleplay.
